Capture the beauty and colors of nature in this fiber arts workshop using flowers and leaves for printing! Discover the art of Tataki Zome, a Japanese technique, which involves pounding flowers into fabric to create stunning and unique designs. Using botanicals, explore the endless possibilities of arranging items and discover the range of colors they will create from the natural pigment. Each participant will create custom botanical prints on a selection of dyeable textiles, including cotton drawstring bags, a silk scarf, and a tea towel, in addition to muslin test pieces. Materials & botanicals will be provided, but students are welcome to bring their own flowers & leaves to experiment with. All levels/Ages 14+
