Getting Out of the Round: Altering Workshop
Add some flair to your pieces with some creative altering techniques! Explore how to transform your wheel-thrown pieces into bold new forms. Starting with a demonstration, you’ll be guided through the process of throwing a form and altering it using a variety of tools and methods. Next, create a square piece or a lidded jar while experimenting with shaping methods and refining techniques to elevate your work. Trimming will be covered—watch your piece truly take shape as you fine-tune the details. Gain inspiration as you stretch your creative boundaries and expand your repertoire of skills. Adults/Int. & Adv.*
*Students should be able to center a piece on the wheel consistently. Each participant will be able to practice in open studio hours during the workshop, and fire up to 2 pieces.
An optional glazing day is scheduled on December 13 for students who are not currently enrolled in another clay class and would like guidance with glazing. Please select this option when registering for the workshop-an additional fee applies.
Please note: When registering for a class online, a credit card payment is required. If you prefer to pay with a check, please contact us at info@middleburystudioschool.org to register.
