Raku & Pit Firing Workshop

Discover the magical process of Raku firing, where fire and smoke combine with creativity to produce stunning, one-of-a-kind pieces. Explore age-old techniques such as terra sigillata, naked Raku, and pit pottery firing. Experiment with surface decoration, learn about glazing methods, and participate in firings. You'll be guided through each step of the process—from loading and unloading the kiln to essential safety practices, and the final, thrilling stage of cleaning your work to reveal its hidden shine. Students must bring: 4–5 bisqued pieces made of high-fire clay (Cone 6–10 Raku or white stoneware) suitable for Raku firing
