Middlebury Studio School

This three week after school class will be all about exploring the intersection of art and nature as students learn inspiring and meaningful approaches to recording their observations and experiences in the natural world.
Weather permitting, class time will be spent mostly outdoors in the studio garden and walkable areas of waterfront park as students create illustrative journal pages informed by the local environment. Students will learn about natural history of the area, be introduced to principles of scientific illustration, as well as learn effective design and layout concepts for their pages. There will be plenty of room for creativity as students choose their subjects, incorporate text as either information, poetry, or prose, and utilize a wide variety of artist mediums. All levels/Ages 7-11 All materials and blank journal included
