Shibori Basics Workshop

Discover the Art of Shibori, while learning the fundamentals of this traditional Japanese fabric dyeing method. Create custom dyed pieces while exploring a variety of resist dyeing techniques using natural fabrics. Fold, twist, and knot the fabric to create beautiful patterns. Experiment with the Arashi method (wrapping cloth around a pole) to create striped patterns. Create geometric patterns with Itajime folding techniques or circular designs with various Kumo Shibori methods. Each unique piece holds an element of mystery and surprise as you open your folds and twists, and see the beautiful patterns emerge! Each participant will dye 2 tea towels, a tote bag & drawstring bag.
