Shibori Stitching Workshop
Explore the Art of Nui Shibori, a traditional Japanese fabric dyeing method, which focuses on a variety of stitched techniques. Create intricate patterns or abstract designs as you discover ways to use this resist process of dyeing, while experimenting with Miru, Ori Nui, and Guntai Shibori. Students will stitch designs on a silk habotai scarf, drawstring bags & a tote bag. Each unique piece holds an element of mystery and surprise as you remove the stitches from your piece after dyeing to see the beautiful patterns emerge!
This 2 week class will skip a week in between classes, allowing time for students to practice stitching techniques at home. Materials Included/Int/Adv. Adults/Teens
