Handmade Books: Simply Sewn

Description: In this workshop students will learn basic bookbinding skills while sewing single and multiple-signature books. Bookbinding tools, resources and some tricks of the trade will be shown. A variety of decorative papers will be used and many examples of hand sewn books for inspiration. Students will leave with two to three different sewn bindings. This is a great class for first time bookmakers, and for those wanting to finesse their design and binding skills. All materials and handouts will be provided. Optional: students are welcome to bring any of their own papers and tools. From 9:30AM-12:30.
