Handmade Books: Uniquely Different Instructor: Jane Ploughman
Description: In this workshop students will learn some basic bookbinding skills along with design elements for making one of a kind covers. Bookbinding tools, resources and a few tricks of the trade will be shown. Students will leave with two unique books: a Japanese Album and a Flutter Book. Time permitting, a third book will be introduced and made. All of these books can be used as journals, sketchbooks or as artists’ books. This is a great class for first time bookmakers, and for those wanting to continue their bookmaking skills. All materials and handouts will be provided. Optional: Students are welcome to bring any of their own papers and tools. Additionally, if you have photographs, small prints and/or collages that you’d like to use in a book, bring them along. Please contact Jane if you have any questions about bringing additional materials.
