Working with Colored Porcelain Clay

In this workshop, Andy will introduce you to Neriage (Agateware thrown on the wheel) and Nerikomi (Agateware that is hand built). This workshop will include the creation of colored clay, preparation and control of the medium, and releasing the beauty with carving techniques. Each participant will have the opportunity to create their own expressive work on the potter’s wheel, through hand building, or both. Participation includes enough clay to create, glaze, and fire your creations. Each student will come away with a solid foundation of how to proceed on their own in approaching this centuries old art form with confidence and knowledge.
